Hailing from London, Cover Art Guy crafts intricate collages that stitch together divergent elements into harmonious wholes. These compositions, both surreal and colourful, are windows to alternate universes where every snippet of an image tells its own story. As he releases his debut collection on Fair, we got an exclusive chance to unravel the layers behind the artist and his distinct artistic touch.
Q: Has the art world always beckoned you, or did your journey begin elsewhere?
Cover Art Guy: I’ve felt a pull towards the art world since I was 14. However, my early career anchored me to Graphic Design roles. Through perseverance and a bit of trial and error, I eventually steered my path towards a full-time artistic pursuit.
Q: If you had to encapsulate your artistic style in just three words, which would they be?
Cover Art Guy: Surreal. Collage. Worlds.
Q: Every artist dreams of a certain collector. Who is that for you?
Cover Art Guy: It might sound clichéd, but my dream collector is anyone genuinely moved by the essence of my art.
Q: The Crypto Twitter space teems with talent. Who do you believe are the three most underrated artists on CT?
Cover Art Guy: While they aren’t exactly ‘underrated’, they certainly deserve even more recognition: @adityajainart, @ozbren_xyz, and @harvmcm, just to mention a few.
Q: Among the vast ocean of NFTs, is there one that you’d wish to call your own?
Cover Art Guy: That’s a challenging one. There are numerous NFTs I covet, but if I had to single one out, it would be “Iteration |||||||||||||” by Joe Pease (@joepease).
Q: Could you shed some light on your debut piece on Fair? What drove you to choose this platform for your release?
Cover Art Guy: My piece, “I choose me”, revolves around the idea of charting one’s own course and embracing individuality. This philosophy felt in sync with Fair’s ethos. I was particularly drawn to the myriad options that Fair offers, allowing each drop to be a unique reflection of the artist.
